F.O.C.C.U.S. - Mentoring Engaged Couples (Cost: $20/couple)
Facilitators: Roger & Pam Bartley, Sam & Tina Newman, Jody & Kelley McBride, Jeff & Holly Prosser, Bowe & Kimberly Hoy Location: Facilitators’ and participants’ discretion Dates: TBA with mentor couple Times: Facilitators’ and participants’ discretion Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study. An inventory for couples planning marriage. This 6 - 8 week study is required of all couples being married at First Baptist Church (FBC). It is also available to engaged couples who are not marrying at FBC. Have more than a beautiful wedding; receive the tools to a beautiful marriage.
"Invest in God's Work" Opportunities: To equip couples with the skills they need for ministry.
F.O.C.C.U.S. - Training for Mentoring Engaged Couples (Cost - $72/couple) Facilitators: Roger & Pam Bartley
Facilitation, Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study. Training mentor couples to encourage premarital couples to express their thoughts and feelings openly and honestly with each other in a listening, caring and confidential atmosphere. Mentoring is more than a premarital program; it is a calling which involves dedication, time and prayer. Mentors do not have perfect marriages, but are willing to share their marital journey and teach an awareness that a strong marriage requires a reliance on God as a third partner.
Coupletime Leadership Training (Cost - $10/couple) Training couples to facilitate monthly sessions for covenant groups in homes. Leadership couples will prepare to encourage 5 other couples to covenant together for a one-year period of marriage enrichment and fellowship.
Leadership Training for Mentoring Couples in Crisis (No Cost) Training mentor couples to enrich existing marriages and to help couples currently considering divorce to resolve their problems. These marriage mentors are all couples who successfully worked through their differences; are even “back from the brink” couples who after avoiding ending their marriages, want to pass on their marital wisdom to other couples currently in crisis. Whether it be alcoholism, adultery, financial bankruptcy, internet pornography, gambling or any other difficulty marriages deal with; these couples are committed to walking alongside another couple through a season that they too have experienced.
